Eric

Hi there.  My name is Eric Von Lehmden.  I am a photographer for the most rad-tastic studio around…Studio 563.  I have been doing
photography professionaly now for over 8 years and it is still the thing that drives me and inspires me on a daily basis.  I live in Austin with my beautiful wife Kim.  I’ll post a lot of recent work on the blog for friends, family and anyone else who wants to take a look.  So feel free to leave a comment…or two, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks so much!

Eric

Melissa and Juan engaged

Melissa and Juan are getting married in May so we did some kick arse engagement photos a few weeks back when it was freezing cold outside.  These guys were super troopers though braving the brisk Austin air for some fantastic shots.  We then retired to the studio to get some more laid back portraits.  It is easy to spot two people in love and Melissa and Juan are definitely two that you can pick out of a crowd cuz you can see how much they love each other.  Very cool.  Oh you also have to check out Melissa’s etsy page for some really cool art and unique cards.

2009…a look back

Well I meant to do this post right after the new year started, but holy cow has it been busy here in the studio.  I am finally finding time to get some of my favorite photos from 2009 up on the blog.  Now a lot of these are personal or family photos that I probably did not post throughout the year, but they mean a lot to me.  What can I say about 2009…I think we are all glad to have gotten through the year, but there were some exciting things that happened last year.  New President, people went Twitter and Facebook crazy.  As I look through my favorite photos I see a lot of milestones captured…birthdays, baptisms, family get togethers…those are some of my favorite moments in life.  I’m happy to share.

Here’s the whole family at Parker’s baptism (my mom is holding the little man).

Photography is not only my profession, but I am blessed that it still my hobby too.  So from time to time I take a step back and photograph something completely different from people.  Kind of getting back to why I got into photography in the first place.  Flowers are some of my favorite things to photograph.  Here are a few I did this year.

kalisse and matthew engaged

These two crazy kids are getting married this coming October.  We did their engagement photos several weeks ago…i know…i know.  i am behind on my blogging with all the Christmas photo shoots and whatnot.  sorry, I shouldn’t make excuses.  Anyways…Kalisse and Matthew are such a fun couple.  They had to get their timing right on when to be serious…because one one give me the serious look and one would be all smiles.  They got it together though and we got some fantastic images.

meghan’s senior session…for real this time

Meghan is one of our senior reps from Hendrickson HS.  You may remember her initial portrait session a ways back…or maybe you don’t.  Meghan wanted to take advantage of the cooler weather we’ve been having and went ahead and scheduled her “real” senior portrait session a few weeks ago.  What an amazing session we had.  We were all over Austin finding some amazing light and textures all over the place…I love having our studio in the middle of downtown because all of downtown is literally our backyard to play in.  Our very talented Vanessa came along on the shoot and grabbed some uber cool shots too.  Meghan, you are a stunner and I think some of these shots belong in a fashion mag.  You did an amazing job Meghan!

tiffany and kevin - all in the family

Tiffany and Kevin have been waiting for this day for a long time and I am so happy for them and was so happy to be able to capture the day for them.  Tiffany is Kim’s sister so it made it extra special to photograph family…a little extra pressure, but special nonetheless.  It is always fun to be around family and be able to capture them in their element…plus they are a little more comfortable around me since they know me and all.  It’s also nice to go into a wedding and know everyone and your not guessing who the sister of the bride is or the brother of the groom.  We started the day at the salon for hair and make-up (a few bon bons and mimosas too) then over to Panera bread for some quick lunch then to the church.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day too and Uncle Ron brought down his antique car for the happy couple to drive from the church to the reception…We had to stop and get some beautiful shots of them with the car.  I could ramble on and on about the wedding, but I would rather show you photos.  So here you go.  Tiff and Kevin…CONGRATULATIONS.  Hope you had an amazing time on your cruise!

tiffkevinblog0001

I love how Tiffany put a reminder on her cell phone for the wedding.  It went off in the bride’s room at 1:00…right on time.

austin’s senior portraits

If I had as much style when I was a senior as Austin does who knows what I would be doing. Seriously…Austin has it. He is a senior at Lake Travis HS and plays bass guitar among other things. We got to try all kinds of cool tricks in the studio then we headed around the downtown. Austin really wanted to go for that gritty urban feel which I think we captured pretty dang well. There are many faves in here…too many to mention so I’ll just let you see for yourself. Great job Austin!

alyssa and jason halloween wedding. trick or treat!

I had the unforgettable pleasure of photographing Alyssa and Jason’s wedding on October 31st.  That’s right.  Halloween.  Let me just tell you up front…it was brilliant…genius even.  First of all a Halloween wedding.  Brilliant.  Inviting guests to dress up. Brilliant.  Having the wedding at Barr Mansion.  Brilliant.  Zombie cake.  Brilliant.  Skyrocket as the band….you get the picture.  They also had an amazing photobooth set up for us complete with a living background which was beautiful but also kind of creepy when you think about it being Halloween and all (photos of that to come in a separate post).  Seriously these guys went all out to make all their guests and myself completely welcome at their big day.  They even had a separate tent set up for kids complete with face painters…I think a lot of adults secretly went to the tent to get their faces painted too.  I was tempted to myself.  From the shoes to the dress and all the gorgeous flowers by Verbena it was a sight to behold.  And to top it off these crazy kids are completely and obviously in love with each other…you could spot it a mile away.  Enjoy the photos, there is a ton of them because I didn’t want to leave anything out.

special thanks to Keely Thorne and her staff at Keely Thorne Events out of Houston for making things go super smooth.  Also need to give my man Julio for assisting me that day.  He did an amazing job as usual.
